Tiny Roman Coin Earrings

Tiny Roman Coin Earrings

Small 'Desert Patina' Roman Coins

About 13-mm in width

Unattributed dating from about 400-300AD.

I maintain a short list of ancient coin dealers who I trust and work with. These particular coins were purchased from a reputable online dealer (http://stores.ebay.com/Jackson-Jacobs-Family-Numismatics) then purposefully 'holed' & dangled from Sterling Silver French Ear Wires.

The obverse of the coins show small portraits of a Roman Emperor, the reverses have either a set of vows or a small figure.

According to my correspondence with Jackson & Jacob's Family Numismatics these types of coins are usually from the era of emperor Constans, from eastern mints (they came from Jordan and the Holy land desert) such as Antioch. However, other possibilities for the emperor depicted on these small unattributed coins may be Theodosius I or II, Valentinian I or II, Valens or Constantius II or Constantine the Great.

Cute little earrings!
